Top Spots to Clean When Selling Your Car!

Faye Giles's Blog | Top Spots to Clean When Selling Your Car!

Are you thinking of selling or trading in your car for a newer one? Many car owners simply drive to the car dealership one day and end up trading their car in an “as-is” condition. However, if you want to get the most money you can out of the vehicle you’ve been driving, pay close attention to cleaning out your car beforehand. Cleaning these areas can make sure you get the most bang for your buck!

  • Driver’s Seat – This is the first area a potential buyer or trade-in specialist will see when they open the door. Make sure it is a great first impression.  Clean and vacuum the entire inside, then sit in the driver’s seat and just look around. Make sure you didn’t miss any spots.
  • Carpet & Floor Mats – This is potentially the dirtiest spot in your car. Our shoes track in dirt, dust, mud and grass. Take your floor mats out to clean them and vacuum the carpet if you have any.
  • Engine – Make sure you clean out all the leaves and debris from under the hood of the car.
  • Exterior – Either run your car through a car wash or hand wash it yourself. Don’t forget to make the wheels shine!

Hopefully, after you have addressed these four areas of your car, it will be shining like it did the day you bought it. After the clean-out, it should smell good too. Make sure there are no funky odors! No one wants to buy a stinky car.

Stay on top of the clean up job you just worked so hard to achieve and you can be sure you will get a great return on your car.
