New Year’s Resolution Tips to a Tidy Car

Faye Giles's Blog | New Year’s Resolution Tips to a Tidy Car

If you are the “resolution” type, did you make any this new year? With the new year beginning, many car owners are making resolutions or “to-do” lists. One of the most common among us is “Clean my car and keep it clean.” If this is on your list, you can follow these simple tips to ensure you always have a tidy car inside and out.

  • Throw it out! Always have a trash bag or an auto trash can handy to catch empty water bottles, soda cans, candy wrappers, tissue paper or any other item you need to toss. Pick a day to empty the trash from your car’s container or do it every day.
  • Place an “errand basket” inside your car for items that you need to return, mail, or give to someone throughout the week. Keeping all these items in one place will ensure that they don’t get lost and are not spread all over your car.
  • If you eat in your car, make sure you have a small auto vacuum on hand to get up any crumbs you may drop and have a pack of auto wipes handy to remove any greasy, sticky fingerprints that may linger long after you have had your snack.
  • Pack an “essentials box” in case of emergencies. Items for your box could include a flashlight, batteries, energy snacks, bottled water, jumper cables, a blanket, etc. Make sure your box has a lid and keep it safely in the trunk.

Keeping your car clean and clutter-free takes discipline and time, but once you have everything tidy and, in its place, you can focus on the road outside instead of all the stuff inside the car.
